We urgently need foster homes.
Our foster carers are all volunteers, from all different walks of life.
We have workers, non-workers, single and family people. Some have never had a dog before whereas others have several, or have other pets such as cats and rabbits. Whatever their lifestyle, they all are dedicated in helping the dogs with training, socialisation, behaviour work and giving lots of love and reassurance. Our fosterers receive a lot of support from the rescue and are an important part of the team by providing a diary of each dog in their care and assessing a prospective forever home......as of course, they know the dog better than anyone.
It may be that we rescue a dog that isn't house-trained or doesn't know how to walk on a lead. It could be that the dog is timid or nervous due to previous experiences and needs a confident, reassuring home. Occasionally a dog may have fear issues and be reactive to other dogs or loud noises and so we always take into consideration a dog’s individual needs and match the dog with the most suitable foster home to ensure the best chance for the dog to settle quickly.
If you feel that you could offer a temporary home to our rescue dogs then all we ask is that you have a safe home, secure garden and a little time and commitment.
Please contact us by phone or email and we will be happy to discuss the role further with you.
